I’m sure that some of you have heard of Google Cash; an E-book that explains how to make Thousands running ads with Google AdWords. If you haven’t heard of it, run a Google search for ‘Google Cash’ and you will see what I am talking about. If you would like to find a torrent of the book so that you can scope it out yourself, try search for it at my other site: Qu3ry.com. Well, I’m here to admit that I read the book and was gullible enough to attempt trying it out on a small scale, and I’m also here to explain why it doesn’t work.

First off, the word content for AdWords is like crazy expensive! Say you want to run an ad for an online sports shop, so you choose a target like the Green Bay Packers and Brett Favre. So you go to CJ and register as an affiliate with the online retailer. Then you go to Google and start a new ad campaign. You pick all the variations of the search terms ‘Green Bay Packers’, ‘jerseys’, ‘brett favre’, etc. Initially the cost to get the ads to even show are usually around $0.15 to $1.00 per click. IMO this initial cost is so high you will never make up the difference. But what is even better is that after a day or so, Google hikes the cost per each word content. So now if you even want the ad to be displayed you need to start paying up to $10.00 per click! I’m not kidding! The hike that I have typically seen is around 500%-2000%. There’s no way that you can make any profit with prices like that!

Second off, the clicks registered between Google and between CJ are way off. The number of clicks Google claims that my ad generated are more than double what Commission Junction claims that came through. For instance, the past couple of days my one campaign generated 13 clicks from what Google registered. Commission Junction is only reporting 6 clicks that came through however. Last month, all my campaigns put together, Google reported that I had 239 clicks. Commission Junction only shows 98. Where did the other 141 clicks go!? Either I am getting overcharged or underpaid, but either way I’m losing my dough!

OK, you say. I still had those 98 clicks reach Commission Junction, right? I still should be bringing in some sort of cash, right? Short answer, no! Not many of those 98 ever completed a sale from the affiliate I was linking to. You may be wondering how many closed the deal, right? A wonderful 2 people completed the sale. I made a total of $7.50! Woohoo! I also paid Google $89.16 too! And do you get your $7.50 from CJ? Nope. You don’t get paid until you have at least $20 in your account. In order to get that money I can calculate that I would have to pay out to Google roughly $240 in advertising costs.

Can some people make money from these ads? I really don’t see how it is possible anymore. It may have been possible years ago when the word content wasn’t as polluted as it is now. But the only person that I can see capitalizing from this ‘Google Cash’ book, is the author who is selling it. So please take my advice and don’t fall into this marketing scheme. You’re only putting stock into GOOG and you’re not getting paid your dividends.
